Separate sealed BIDS for the construction of Hand in Hand Apartments

Bids will be received at the office of WBRC Architects/Engineers until 2 PM, Monday, September 20, 2010, and then at said office publicly opened and read aloud.

Brief description of work: Six Unit Apartment Building located on the Wyman Road in Milbridge, Maine. The building will be a wood structure of 6,648 +/- s.f. on a 5 +/- acre site. Unit will consist of three – two bedroom and three – three bedroom apartment with accessed through one common connector. Site development associated with the building construction including but not limited to erosion and sediment control, clear and grub, demolition, layout, utilities, grading, surface treatment, record drawings, and final site clean-up. Project must be complete within 240 days after Notice to Proceed.

Proposals must be accompanied by a satisfactory bid bond for 5% of the proposal (or other performance methods as described in “Information for Contractor”).

The Owner reserves the right to waive all formalities, and reject any and all proposals or to accept any proposal. Proposals shall be submitted upon the form provided by the Architect.

Bidders take note that Minority and Women’s Business Enterprises are encouraged to submit proposals or subcontract (to General Contractors) for this construction project.

The selected Contractor will be required to furnish a 100% Contract Performance Bond and a 100% Contract Payment Bond to cover the execution of the Work which shall be in conformity with the Form of Bonds contained in the Specifications and for the Contract Amount.

On or about Monday, August 30, 2010 Drawings and Specifications may be obtained in electronic format from the Architect by contacting Donna Allen via email donna.allen@wbrcae.com. Provide company name, company address, phone, fax, and contact full name and email address in requesting email.

Printed sets of Drawings and Specifications may be obtained from Northeast Reprographics, 80 Central Street, Bangor, Maine Tel 947-8049. Contractors requesting paper copies by mail must make arrangements with Northeast Reprographics.
