Mano en Mano’s dream of a united community in Downeast Maine connected with its best resources does not come true without the help of many hands. We are pursuing ambitious strategic and development plans to build organizational capacity, expand educational programs, and diversify our revenue. In order to achieve these goals and better serve the communities in Downeast Maine, we are looking to expand support in the following three areas:

Donating money: We plan to increase our financial security by developing additional revenue generating programs and increasing donations from our annual campaign and local businesses that benefit from Washington County’s diverse population and our work. Each gift of $35 allows us to provide a day of outreach services. $75 allows a student to attend a day of the Intensive English Institute and secure the skills he or she will need to thrive in Maine. Of course, we continue to rely heavily on our generous foundational partners for program and service delivery costs.

Ways to make (tax-deductible) donations:

Donating your time: We are always looking for volunteers to assist with our programs such as English tutors, event staff, and mentors. In addition, we can decrease our expenses by having professionals donate their services in the following areas: accounting, information and internet technologies, and development.
In-kind donations: Mano en Mano can accept donations in the form of office furniture and supplies, event space and equipment, heating oil, and educational resources.
