Our 8th annual Mother’s Day Celebration was a wonderful opportunity for community members to come together and to celebrate mothers. On Saturday, May 10th, families gathered at the Milbridge Elementary school gymnasium to do just that. We celebrated our 4th Annual Holiday Posada on December 7th at the EdGE Center in Cherryfield. A posada is a Mexican cultural tradition that takes place in December in the days leading up to Christmas. Saturday, May 26th was a beautiful, sunny day and especially fun for several pre-school age children and their families. Ana Blagojevic, our Migrant Education Coordinator, had organized a field trip to Creekside Farm in Milbridge. Nutrition and Healthy Eating
Mano en Mano had a full house last Wednesday evening, March 21st. We hosted a monthly potluck at our office, coupled with a presentation on nutrition and eating well. Dorice Timko, of the U. On March 14th for the first time, we hosted an educational charla (lecture/workshop)for ten high school teens, the first in a series of charlas about health education. A local nurse practitioner, Beth Russet, volunteered to teach the series of 3 classes to the teens in Spanish during March and April.
