Contracts Signed for Hand in Hand Apartments; Construction to Begin Imminently
Contracts were signed by Ian Yaffe, Executive Director and Dana Littlefield, President of E.W. Littlefield, Inc. of Hartland, Maine on October 6, 2010 for construction of Maine’s first affordable housing project for farmworkers: Hand in Hand Apartments. Work on the Wyman Road site is to begin imminently and a more detailed press release is forthcoming.
Migrant Youth Programs Summer 2010 Newsletter
Summer of 2010 was the first season that Mano en Mano teachers went out to blueberry camps to provide Title 1C mandated educational programming to youth ages 14-21. Here are some highlights of the summer: Students created the Wild Blue Harvest Recipe Book by recording and collecting favorite and traditional recipes from different camps.
Mano en Mano Welcomes Summer Education Staff!
As part of a grant from the Maine Department of Education, Mano en Mano will be offering classes to eligible migratory youth (ages 14-21) in various blueberry camps this summer.
